MELBOURNE - 8 October 2024

Brightly Software, a Siemens company and global leader in intelligent asset management today announced its latest win in New Zealand with Whanganui District Council (Whanganui Council), commencing early October 2024.

This partnership marks an important milestone as Brightly continues to expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region. After a rigorous selection process, Whanganui Council is the latest local government organisation in New Zealand to adopt Brightly's world leading Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Strategic Asset Management (SAM) solutions.

The partnership will allow Whanganui Council to reimagine its asset management capabilities using modern cloud-based technology. Brightly's solution will replace the council's legacy asset management system and database.

A key benefit of the Brightly platform is its integration capabilities, allowing Whanganui to connect the asset management system with other critical systems like Geographic Information System (GIS), customer request management system (CRM), finance system, and document management (EDRMS). This will support the council to gain a more holistic view of its assets and operations.

Security and data ownership were also important considerations for Whanganui. By moving to Brightly's cloud-based platform, the council will have greater control and visibility over its asset data, replacing reliance on spreadsheets.

Brightly’s Senior Sales Executive for Local Government ANZ, Jim Apostolovski said, “We are excited to work with Whanganui Council to centralise its asset data into a single, accurate source of truth, for all above-ground assets, allowing the council to make informed, data-driven decisions that align with community priorities and ensure seamless information for relevant statutory compliances.

By shifting from reactive to planned maintenance, the council will be able to reduce costs and disruptions, ensuring a more proactive approach to asset management. Embracing the world leading mobile platform, Council officers will have the opportunity to seamlessly action items within the field.

As a global market leader in enterprise asset management (EAM), we have a strong track record of successful implementations and integrations for local government clients in Australia and New Zealand, which was a key factor in Whanganui’s decision to partner with us.

As council budgets continue to be stretched, engaging a strategic asset management (SAM) approach allows funding to be allocated to the right assets at the right time. Adopting a standardised, systematic approach around asset related decisions supports both the engineering and accounting teams’ outcomes. Further ensuring the relevant (SAM) information renders into Council’s Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP).

We are committed to deliver our best-in-class solutions to enable Whanganui Council to improve efficiencies, accurately plan for future spending, and ultimately create a more sustainable model for the Council.”

Brightly’s General Manager, APAC, Blake Gordon said, “We are thrilled to welcome Whanganui council as our latest client in New Zealand. This partnership represents an important milestone as we continue to expand our presence in the Asia-Pacific region. We look forward to working closely with the council to help them unlock the full potential of their asset management and strategic asset management capabilities."
